The QVT-MF Multivariable Transmitter from Eastern Instruments is a high performance multivariable smart transmitter that has been optimized for the extremely accurate flow measurement of air and gas at or near atmospheric pressure (5 - 25 psia). Allowing for the measurement of up to four separate process variables including Differential Pressure, Temperature and Absolute Pressure, the QVT will calculate the fully compensated mass flow of air or gas in nearly any duct. When coupled with any Differential Pressure based flow element, the QVT ensures extremely accurate flow measurement down to +/-0.50% of Reading over 100:1 range of DP and 10:1 flow turndown.

LINE MOUNTED PURGE




Line Mounted Purge
The Line Mounted Purge or LMP is a low-volume continuous purge that can be used to purge either the pitots or the transmitter itself. When used to purge the transmitter, the LMP will deliver a continuous volume of air through the impulse lines, to ensure that no dust, particulate, or moisture can travel through the impulse lines and enter the transmitter.

What is the QVT-MF?

The QVT-MF Multivariable Smart Transmitter will measure the Temperature, Absolute Pressure and the Differential Pressure (Velocity Pressure)within nearly any low pressure ductwork and will deliver a fully compensated 4-20 mA mass flow signal. Whether the QVT-MF is connected to Eastern Instruments brand flow elements or to another manufacturer's brand of flow elements, the QVT will deliver an accurate and dependable flow measurement. While the QVT-MF Multivariable Smart Transmitter is perfect for any application under 9 in WC, it is especially accurate for draft range applications where the Differential Pressure can be under 1 in WC.

  • FLOW ACCURACY: Accuracy of flow measurement as high as +/-0.50% of reading over a 100:1 range in DP and a 10:1 range in flow
  • RANGEABILITY: Can be ranged from 0 to 0.1 in WC up to 0 to 8 in WC
  • RESPONSE TIME: Updates flow calculation 10 times a second
  • FUNCTIONALITY: All measured and calculated variables are available on LCD panel
  • OUTPUT: 4-20 mA Compensated flow output using measured/input values for Differential Pressure, Absolute Pressure and Temperature (Can also be a single variable output)
  • SIMPLICITY: Ae and the 4-20 mA full scale value are set from the LCD/push button interface
  • ZERO: Differential Pressure can be zeroed from the LCD/push button interface
  • POWER SUPPLY: Loop Power 8.8 to 42.5 vDC range
  • VERSATILITY: LCD can be rotated independently of the head (LCD rotates 270o and the head can rotate 180o for ultimate adjust-ability)

The QVT Multivariable DP transmitter can be used in a wide range of applications and in conjunction with a wide array of DP based flow elements. Whether coupled with an Eastern Instruments Insertion pitot or High Beta Flow Conditioner, or with an existing flow element, the QVT DP flow transmitter will accurately output the flow of air traveling through your duct work. The QVT is perfect for new installations as it can be mounted directly on an Eastern Instruments manufactured flow element such as the High Beta, pictured here. Installation is extremely simple as installation of the flow element and the transmitter is completed at one time. The QVT is extremely versatile and can be used as either a Multivariable DP Transmitter where two or more process variables are measured simultaneously, or as a DP only Transmitter where only a single process variable is being measured (typically the single variable is Differential Pressure).

PERFECT FOR RETROFIT INSTALLATIONS




The VAP Pitot is easily installed in square and rectangular ducts for accurate air flow measurement of any process air flow
The QVT is perfect for retrofit installations as well. The optional mounting bracket for the QVT DP Multivariable Transmitter allows it to be pipe mounted in either the horizontal or vertical plane. Due to the QVT's unique design, it can be used with any flow element, regardless of the manufacturer, making the QVT perfect for retrofit applications where a transmitter is needed for an existing element. The QVT is extremely versatile and can be used as either a Multivariable DP Transmitter where two or more process variables are measured simultaneously, or as a DP only Transmitter where only a single process variable is being measured (typically the single variable is Differential Pressure).
