Eastern Instruments' DSV - Duct Section VAP retains all of the air flow measurement features and capabilities of the VAP Pitot, while offering the additional feature of being exceedingly easy to order and install. The DSV is a round, spooled section of duct that contains an array of VAP Pitots along with straightening vanes that help channel air flow through the flow measurement section of the DSV. Like stand-alone VAP Pitot arrays, the DSV can be installed into new or existing ducts for both clean air applications and for particulate-laden applications. Each pitot contained within the DSV has multiple total and static sensing ports that are specifically located in order to provide a full traverse of the duct, thus eliminating the concern of measurement error due to highly random distributions of air. Its use of VAP3® Pitot technology ensures that the DSV is an extremely accurate and convenient method of measuring air flow.

Utilizing VAP Pitot technology, the DSV offers superior accuracy in both the SA (clean air applications) and PA (particulate-laden applications) orientation for almost any installation.
The DSV is offered for installations in ducts ranging from 4" to 36" in diameter (available in 2" increments). Square/Rectangular DSVs are specially made to fit in any size duct.
The DSV can be manufactured from several materials, including 304 SS and 316 SS as well as 6061 Aluminum and Painted Carbon Steel. For gas flow measurement in harsh environments not suited for the metals mentioned, we also offer the PVC DSV which is composed entirely out of PVC.
The DSV is available in three distinct pressure ratings that extend from a low of 10 psig to a high of 150 psig with variable pressure ratings available for flanges.
The DSV is typically 12" in length (length of duct run required for installation) for both round installations and square/rectangular installations.
Because of the DSV's unique flanged spool section design, it can easily be bolted directly into new or existing duct work and can be up and running in hours.
Because of the off-the-shelf design of the DSV, it can be shipped in a relatively short time upon the receipt of an order, making the DSV an extremely easy and reliable tool to meet your air flow measurement needs.
DSV Duct Section VAPs utilize an array of VAP Pitots that provide multiple DP sensing ports along multiple sensing probes in order to offer full coverage, or full traversal, of any duct.

WHAT MAKES A DSV a DSV?
Whether installed in round ducts or rectangular ducts, the DSV consists of an array of pitots that is pre-mounted into a section of duct. The duct section typically contains flanges for easy installation and features straightening vanes which will assist in eliminating the effects of swirl on the flow measurement. The integral pitot array is tubed together and offers a single High and a single Low port that will tube to the QVT transmitter as well as any other model DP or Multivariable Transmitter.

The Round DSV comes in standard sizes ranging from 4" up to 36" in diameter and is offered in a variety of materials and pressure ratings that can accommodate even the most hostile air flow measurement environments. The DSV is also equipped with flanges on either side of the spooled duct section, allowing for easy installation upon arrival at your site. Most importantly, however, is the off-the-shelf design of the DSV that allows for minimal lead times from order to installation. The DSV can be used for either clean air or for particulate-laden air applications. The measurement pitots can be manufactured out of either Anodized Aluminum or Stainless Steel.
The Square or Rectangular DSV can be manufactured in a variety of sizes to fit nearly any duct size and is offered in a variety of materials and pressure ratings that can accommodate even the most hostile air flow measurement environments.
