 CENTRIFLOW®

CENTRIFLOW Meter measures buld solid materials continuosly

The CentriFlow® Meter is a mass flow meter for measuring bulk solid materials continuously in a process. Solid construction, low maintenance, and a compact package allow it to be installed almost anywhere.
 HIGHBETA®

HIGHBETA airflow measurement system for industrial air duct applications

The High Beta® airflow measurement system is ideal for either new or retrofit industrial applications where insufficient straight duct runs are present and/or accuracy is required.
 VAP³®

VAP3 airflow measurement system for industrial applications that need precise airflow measurments

The VAP³® airflow measurement system is ideal for either new or retrofit industrial applications. When inserted in gas flow ducts, the VAP³® provides an accurate, differential pressure output allowing for precise airflow measurement or control of your process.

PTXi Exhibition 2008

Chicago, IL , May 6-8, 2008 This Process Technology International event will be co-located with International Powder and Bulk Solids, Pharma Process, Chem Process, and the Process Pack Expos. The CentriFlow® Meter, a mass flow metering device for measuring dry solids continuously in a process with accuracies of +/- 0.25% for mixing, blending, or ratio control applications in the petrochemical, agricultural, aggregate, food, and pharmaceutical industries will be demonstrated, along with the CentriView™, a new electronics option to view process parameters and control common process functions. The plug resistant VAP® Pitot technology will also be on display for industrial applications where accurate air flow measurement is needed for process control. Also on display, the High Beta® Flow Element, which utilizes VAP® Pitots, is used to straighten the airflow profile in complex duct systems for accurate airflow measurement. The exhibition will be held in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemount, IL on May 6-8, 2008. Make sure to visit Eastern Instruments at Booth Number 2640!

High Beta® Testing at CEESI

A number of EI High Beta® units were flow tested recently by CEESI (Colorado Engineering Experiment Station Inc.) at their Flow Meter Calibration Facility in Nunn, Colorado for the Navy. The testing is NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable and the test has an uncertainty of ±0.5% of flow. The unit shown on the left was tested at a maximum flow rate of approximately 1,000,000 lbs/hr of air. The largest unit (shown on left) agreed with the reference to ±0.5% over the flow test range. When corrected for flow, the agreement was approximately ±0.1% The test was carried out using a critical pressure nozzle with approximately a 10 inch diameter throat. The upstream pressure of the nozzle started at 1800 psig. The run was for approximately 15 minutes duration—one can imagine the size of the tank! Copies of the test will be made available to interested individuals. If you are interested in reading more about this testing, please view our Sales Rep Quarterly Newletter, which can be found under the "Contact a Rep" section under any EI product line section.
